WHY IRRIGATORS AND PUMP COMPANIES SHOULD CONSIDER

USING A "DRIP-WELL" SYSTEM ON THEIR OIL LUBED TURBINE PUMPS

Inadequate drip oiling is the leading cause of turbine irrigation pump failure.
All pump companies will tell you that it is absolutely essential that the bearings in your pump get plenty of oil during operation.

Continuous dripping (when your pump is not in operation) wastes oil and causes water contamination.
Excess oil dripped when your pump is not running will rise to the top of the water table and floats in the well casing. Many wells have from three to five feet of oil floating on the water and it has been reported that occasionally pump repairmen will find as much as 30-40 feet of oil in the casing! This not only can cause water contamination but also causes perforation build up.

Automatic operation assures bearing lubrication whenever the well is pumping.
The Drip-Well valve is often perceived as an automatic shut-off. But the truth is that Drip-Well is a complete oiling system which is primarily about lubricating pumps reliably and efficiently. It not only shuts down your oil drip when the pump shuts down but more importantly, it starts dripping when the pump starts up whether the operator is there or even if he should forget to manually check it.

Eliminates unnecessary trips through the mud due to automatic pivot operation, load control or lightning shutdown.
Radio activated control panels, automatic restarts, phone controls, as well as electric company load controls have forced today’s irrigator to look for new and modern innovations to solve old problems. Drip-Well addresses these challenges with a reliable, economical, non-electric automatic oiling system. Savings are quickly noticed in vehicle repair, time allocated to checking wells, and of course oil.

For year 2000, L&M Mfg. is introducing their newest product, the thermal equalizer. Using the consistent temperature of ground water, the equalizer circulates water around the column of oil ahead of the needle valve, assuring consistent flow even in the most adverse conditions. Our customers who find it necessary to irrigate through the winter, or those of you who irrigate in the high country will find the equalizer indispensable.

Drip-Well is safe, inexpensive and easy to install
Complete instructions and plumbing supplies are included with each system. It installs quickly and easily at the same location as the original small oil tank.

NON-ELECTRIC.
The Drip-Well system and valve are activated by water pressure. Five PSI or more is all that is required for operation. The automatic valve is in most cases more economical to purchase than it is to wire your pump for the 480 volt electricity required to operate an electric solenoid. Also, it is good to take note that when an electric solenoid fails; it closes.

MANUAL MODE for pre-season lubrication
Manual mode allows you to by-pass the automatic valve to lubricate after lengthy shut downs or to adjust and check your drip rate without starting the pump.

Large Oil Reservoir.
The Drip-Well System comes in three sizes. These are 4, 7, and 11 gallon UV rated, oil compatible poly tanks which bolt directly to the pump base. The standard equipment oil reservoir is a small metal container holding only enough oil for a few days. The biggest negative is that these draw their oil from the bottom of the tank where rust and condensation accumulate to plug the needle valve. Drip-Well addresses these problems by providing a poly tank large enough in most cases to last the irrigation season. More importantly, Drip-Well does not take oil from the bottom but from the interior of the tank. Condensation settles away into a sediment bowl where it is harmless until drained.

Availability.
The patented pressure-activated automatic valve is available directly from L & M Mfg., Inc. or can be purchased from dealers across the country. This valve has been tested successfully for 7 years and has been marketed across the United States to a diverse group of water users.
