It would appear as though the next generation of young agricultural producers and businesspeople in the state of Nebraska is going to be a strong one. The Nebraska FFA Association, which is an organization that has been encouraging young people to enroll in agricultural education classes for almost 100 years now, held its 90th annual Nebraska FFA State Convention recently, and it featured a record attendance.
Nearly 5,000 students from over 180 FFA chapters attended the Nebraska FFA State Convention to celebrate the accomplishments of exceptional members.
The students gathered at the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln to see more than 600 state FFA degrees get handed out. In addition to the students who showed up, there were also almost 250 advisers at the convention as well as more than 1,500 guests. That helped this year’s convention set an attendance record and showed that interest in the Nebraska FFA Association seems to be at an all-time high right now.
The fact that the convention set a record shouldn’t come as a huge surprise. After all, there are now a record number of Nebraska FFA Association chapters throughout the state. New chapters in cities like Wayne and even Neligh-Oakdale have popped up over the last year, and there are already six new chapters preparing to set up shop later this year. That means that next year’s convention could be even bigger than this year’s event.
Drip-Well is ecstatic to see all the interest in the Nebraska FFA Association and can’t wait to see the organization continue to grow in the coming years. It is surely a great sign for the future of the agricultural community in Nebraska.
